Brandon Lee

Brandon hails from Williamsburg VA and a family of educators. He is a graduate of UVA with a BA in African & American Studies and Drama, a minor in history. After graduation, he worked in mental health and with teens at a Boys and Girls Club. He taught technology at Jack Jouett Middle School provisionally and joined AATF to pursue education classes in order to receive certification from the Virginia Department of Education. He is now a certified teacher of technology and drama at Jack Jouett Middle School in Albemarle County.

Brandon is interested in the arts and also has taught drama at Jack Jouett. Active in after school activities, Brandon leads an African Drumming and Dance group with another teacher, and has organized a Step Team. Step Team graduates, now in high school, return to volunteer as assistants at Step Team practices.

Clearly, Brandon has a wide variety of interests and brings these to his teaching. He is passionate about teaching and making a difference in the lives of young people
Asked what he likes best about teaching, he smiles.
“It’s a new experience every day. You have so many different personalities and so many different nationalities….I like the experience of teaching because it’s not only teaching – it’s teaching and learning. In order to move forward, you have to be a learner as well. So, it’s the new experiences, because they help me to learn.”
